Kaia turned 1 month old yesterday and it hit me how fast she is growing up already. She is changing so much everyday and I just wish so much that I could slow life down and keep her a tiny baby forever. But since that is not an option, I decided to start this blog so we can all watch her grow together.
Starting off, Kaia was born April 12th, 2010. She weighed 9 pounds and was 21.5 inches long. Yesterday (her 1 month bday) I took her to the doctor and she weighed in at 10 lbs 2 ounces. She is growing and thriving beautifully!
On April 30th, Kaia slept thro
ugh the night for the first time. It was a much needed night of rest for mommy and daddy and we are so thankful that she has continued to sleep through the night since (with 2 exceptions). I highly recommend the book, "Secrets of the Baby Whisperer." After about 2 days of getting her on a routine she began sleeping through the night. I finally feel like I am starting to read her "cues" right and it has helped her and I tremendously.
On her 3 week birthday, she gave me her first purposeful smiles. They were very much so on purpose. She has continued to give more of these on-purpose smiles more and more each day, and today she is the smiliest baby I have ever seen. It's so stinkin' cute.
